Question: What height would a drum be if the drum holds 260L and the diameter is 58cm.

A drum is a cylinder, so the volume of a drum is the volume of a cylinder.

V = πR^2.h

where R is the radius of the base of the cylinhder/drum and h is the height.

one L = 1000 cm^3.

Therefore 260L = 260,000 cm^3

Using V = 260L and R = 56/2 = 28 cm, with V = πR^2.h, then

260,000 = π(28)^2.h

260,000 = π(784).h

h = 260,000 / (784π) = 260,000 / 2,463

h = 105.56 cm
