solve 74=-2(m+5)+m

 

Hi there:

 

My grandson had this question in an online math class.

 

His answer was wrong and he came to me 'cause I'm 'good in math'

Well this one has me stumped...

 

I do knwo to do the same thing on both sides of the equation,

butnot sure where to start.

74=-2(m+5)+m

74 = -2m - 10 + m

74 = -m - 10

74 + m = -10

m = -84
