3.96 oz of meat yields 2 oz of protein so 2 oz of meat yields 2/3.96*2=1.01 oz of protein. (Since 3.96 is almost 4, which is twice 2, then half that amount of meat would yield half the amount of protein, and 1 oz is half of 2 oz. So 1.01 oz, the actual answer, is close to that estimate.)
