Gabiella wants to tile a room with an area of 320 square feet. The width of the room is 4/5 its length. What are the length and width of the room? This was on a fifth graders math homework.

let l be the length,

w = 4/5 * l,

area = 320 sq ft

area = l*w

320 = l * 4/5l

320 = 9/5l

1600 = 9l

177.777777778 = l

w = 1.8

1600/9 = l
