I have a question related with the positive definiteness of a matrix.  Assume that the matrix A is positive definite. Is the following true?  ||x^T A x|| =||x^T|| ||A|| ||x||  where the norm A is ||A||=sup (||Ax||/||x||)

Thank you in advance
