5/8(x-2)=10

5 = 10( 8(x - 2) )   Multiply both sides by 8(x - 2) to get rid of the denominator

5 = 80x - 160 distribute the 80 = 8 * 10

165 = 80x      add 160 to both sides

x = 165 / 80   divide both sides by 80

x = 33/16       reduce by 5/5

or 2 1/16 as a mixed number
