how do you solve x squared minus x plus 12=0, so x^2-x+12=0.

I need to know the solutions and how to solve it to get two solutions

x^2-x+12=0  we need to factor or use quadratic equation. Because of the +12 we cannot factor so use the quadratic equation.

[-b +or- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)]/2a

a = 1, b = -1, c = 12

[1 +or- sqrt((-1)^2 -4*1*12)] / 2*1

[1 +or- sqrt(1 - 48)] /2

1 +or- sqrt(-47)]/2   no real solutions because of the negative sqrt
