How do I enter F(x)=-x^2-5x-3 into a ti-83 graphing calculator.

First turn on calculator.

2. Hit the key "y="

3. Clear the function if anything is there, hit "clear" key.

4. Type in function. hit "(-)" key (below the "3" key.

5. Then hit the variable key "x,t,..." near the "alpha" and "stat" keys.

6. Hit the "^" key (below the "clear" key.

7. Hit the "2" key.

8. Hit the "-" key (letter "W" above it.

9. Hit the "5" key.

10. Hit the variable key " x,t,..."

11. HIt the "-" key again.

12. Hit the "3" key.

the function is in the calculator.  Now hit the "graph" key to see the graph.
