6/(t²-1) – 1/(t -1) = 1/2  remember t^2 -1 = (t + 1) ( t - 1)

so change bottom (denominator and multiply the second by (t + 1)

[6 - 1(t + 1)]/(t + 1)(t - 1) = 1/2

[t + 7]/ (t + 1)(t - 1) = 1/2
