I am currently a 42 year old college student looking for help as I am re-renting the great world of enducation. Any hints to solving these problems would be greatly appreciated. It's been a long time since I have had to use, or participated in any type of Algebra classes. Thanks!!! :)

The question doesn't show the relationship between E, I and R so let's assume E=IR, then:

E=(4-5i)(3+7i)=12+13i-35i2. Taking i=√-1, then i2=-1 and E=12+13i+35=47+13i.
