find the slope of a line that passes through (2,2) and (8,8) let p1(2,2) and p2(8,8) the x and y values can be labeled x1, x2 and y1, y2 the 1's for point p1 and the 2's for point p2 m denotes slope m = y2 - y1 --------- x2 - x1 plug un the values m = 8 - 2 ------ = 1 8 - 2 1 means 1/1 so the line goes at a forty-five degree angle. the line is y = x
