my thinking is to solve (2-4) first. so the equation would look like {[8 x (-2)]/2}. Then {[-16]/2}. So my answer is (-8) but that is not one of the choices given. what am I doing wrong?

me assume that stuf spozed tu be . . . sqroot[8*(2-4)]=sqroot(8*-2)=sqroot(-16) . . . =+-4i ??????? maebee yu kopied it rong ???????
