First note that   x^2-6x+9=(x-3)^2.

Now use (x-3)^2=80 and square root property of equality to get:

x-3=sqrt(80)  and x-3 = -1*sqrt(80)

Then you get the x =3+sqrt(80) or x = 3-sqrt(80)
