6:18:30 = 1:3:5                 [dividing each number by 6 ]

sum of the ratio = 1+3+5   [ martin share = 1part; ralph share = 3parts;

                                                          brain share = 5 parts]

                             = 9 -------------------(1)

dividing 288 among 3 members according to their ratios

9 parts = 288            [ number of parts = amount which is distributed ]

1part = 288/9

1part = 32----------------------------(2)

martin share = 1part  = 1 * 32 = 32

ralph share = 3parts = 3*32 = 96

brain  share = 5parts = 5 *32 = 160
