my book says 4=1/2x-3 equals x=-8/3

The book says that the answer is x=-8/3 but every time i solve the equation for x i get x=14 i don't understand how to do this problem the equation is 4=1/2x-3

(x/2) -3=4

(x/2)=7

x=14

tu get anser like -8/3 impli yu had -3*x in yer start equashun...
