line 1: 3x+y=7

line 2: 2y=x or y=x/2

line 1...3x +(x/2)=7

6x+x=14, so x=2

y=1

I have to show my work for this assignment and I  need a little more detail as to how you got your answer. So can you add a little more detail to this problem

3x + y = 7

x = 2y

This answer here is confusing to me because I don't know how you got it

line 1: 3x+y=7

line 2: 2y=x or y=x/2 = what am I suppose to do with line

line 1...3x +(x/2)=7 = what was done here

6x+x=14 = how did you get this answer?

, so x=2

y=1
