how do you solve 1/3=2/n, what is the formula?

You are given the formula right there in the problem.
Just carry out the operations to manipulate it
so it shows n all by itself on the left side, and
everything else is on the right side.

You have n on the right side; also, you are dividing
by n. The way to get n onto the left side is to
multiply both sides by n.

n * (1/3) = n * (2/n)
n/3 = 2

To get rid of that fraction on the left side,
multiply both sides by the denominator, 3.

3 * (n/3) = 3 * 2
n = 6
