The area of a rectangle is 629 cm. If the length of the rectangle is 3 more than twice its width, find the dimensions of the rectangle

Length x Width = Area of a rectangle

Given: L = 3 + 2W

Substitute the above equation for the value of L

(3 + 2W) x W = 629

(3 + 2(17))x 17 = 629

(3+34) x 17 = 629

37 = 37

W= 17 and L =37
