Twenty-four students wrote their goals for the new year. One third of them wrote persoonal goals like doing 10 more pushups or getting on the baseball team. Three twelfths of them wrote goals focused on improving their academic grades. The remaining students wanted to work on improving an apect of their family life like getting along better with their brother or taking care of the dog.

1. How many students wrote in each type of goal?

2. What is the ratio of students with academic goals to all students?

3. What is the ratio of students with personal goals to students with family goals?

Explain how you got your answer.

Ratio usually goes in questions like this :

".. 3:5. What is the bla bla bla.."

here's an example.

What is 56 hours to 9 days?

First, get how many hours in one day.

1 day = 24 hours

9*24= 216 hours

so it's 56:216.

But in ratio, you need to put it in LOWEST TERMS.

Get the GCF of them.

56:216/8:8= 7:27

So, 56 hours to 9 days is equal to the ratio 7:27.

Dear Sirs

The following is an approximate text of a statement in Maths:

If we create a new ratio from other ratios so that the numerator of the new «created» ratio equals the sum of the numerators of all other «original» ratios and the denominator of the new «created» ratio equals the sum of the denominators of all other «original» ratios, then the created ratio will have a middle value between the extreme values of the other «original» ratios.        For example, The created ratio of ratios (1/2), (3/5) & (7/9) is (1+3+7)/(2+5+9)=11/16

7/9>11/16>1/2

Please send me the correct text of the statement and name the reference

Thank you in advance

Boys= get a equal share of £32   and girls get  £8

To check, add the two numbers together
