Geometric shapes are very important in chemical reactions. This is particularly in biochemistry and organic chemistry.  Certain elements, compounds and molecules react to one another based upon their shape. Signaling molecules like insulin for example react chemically with receptors on the outside of our cells based upon the geometric shape of both the receptor as well as the signal. There are numerous other examples of the role of geometry in chemistry.
