x/4-3=x+8, 1/3x-6= 9+2/3x, x/3+4=5+x/6

I Could not help my son figure out these 3 problems. Please help and show how it is solved.  I tried.

x/4-3=x+8, 1/3x-6= 9+2/3x, x/3+4=5+x/6

x/4-3=x+8,

x/(4-3) = x+8

x(x+8) = 4-3

x² + 8x = 1

x² + 8x - 1 = 0

 

1/3x-6= 9+2/3x,

1/(3x-6) = (9+2)/3x

1/3x-6 = 11/3x

1(3x) = 11(3x-6)

3x = 33x - 66

33x - 3x = 66

30x = 66

x = 66/30

x = 33/15

 

x/3+4=5+x/6

x/ (3+4) = (5+x)/6

x/7 = (5+x)/6

6x = 7(5+x)

6x = 35+7x

7x -6x = - 35

x = - 35

the other guys answer on the first one is wrong... sorry to be so late, but here is the right answer for the first one.... you can check it yourself i you don't believe me.

x/4 -11 = x

x-44=4x

-44=4x-x

-44=3x

-14.6666....= x
