what is 2x^2=3-x

2x^2 = 3 - x
2x^2 + x = 3
2x^2 + x - 3 = 0
(2x + 3) (x - 1) = 0

This says that at least one of the
factors is zero (multiply by 0, get 0).
Set each to 0 and solve for x.

2x + 3 = 0
2x = -3
x = -3/2

x - 1 = 0
x = 1

This is the equation for a parabola. It opens upward, crossing
the x axis at (-1.5, 0) and (1,0), with the vertex at (-0.25, -3.125)
