22.0 + 0.45x - 22.0 = 0.15x + 31.6 - 22.0
0.45x = 0.15x + 9.6
0.45x - 0.15x = 0.15x + 9.6 - 0.15x
0.30x = 9.6
0.30x/0.30 = 9.6/0.30
x = 32

Check it.

22.0 + 0.45x = 0.15x + 31.6
22.0 + 0.45(32) = 0.15(32) + 31.6
22.0 + 14.4 = 4.8 + 31.6
36.4 = 36.4

Answer: x = 32
