(2r+3)(2r-1)=-(3r+1)

Question

I need help answering this question? i know to do the problem :

As shown:   (2r+3)(2r-1)=-(3r+1)

   you foil and then destibute the negative.

i got 4r2nd -2r+6r-3=-3r-1 then i combine like terms

4r2nd +4r-3=-3-1 then i combine liker terms to opposite sides and i got

4r2nd+7r-2=0

i need to use magic x to solve .

so i did   2rx2

              2rx1  and i got 4r+2r=6r<------- this 6r is suppose to add up to 7r.

Can someone help me out ????

4x^2 +6x -2x -3=-3x -1

4x^2 +4x+3x -3+1=0

4x^2 +7x-2=0

(x-0.25)(x+2)=0
