x/-2 + 5 > -12
x/-2 > -17 {subtracted 5 from both sides}
x < 34 {multiplied both sides by -2 and changed the inequality sign}

- whenever you multiply or divide both sides of an inequaity by a negative number,
you have to change the inequaltiy sign
