8 - 5(x - 2) = x + 26
8 - 5x + 10 = x + 26 {used distributive property}
-5x + 18 = x + 26 {combined like terms}
18 = 6x + 26 {added 5x to both sides}
-8 = 6x {subtracted 26 from both sides}
x = - 4/3 {divided both sides by 6}
