2(x)(x) + 1 = 3x
2x² + 1 = 3x {multiplied x by x, adding exponents}
2x² - 3x + 1 = 0 {subtracted 3x from both sides}
(2x - 1)(x - 1) = 0 {factored into two binomials}
2x - 1 = 0 or x - 1 = 0 {set each factor equal to 0}
2x = 1 or x = 1 {added 1 to both sides in each equation}
x = 1/2 or x = 1 {divided left equation by 2}
