it is simple

order of operations is parenthasis, exponents, multiplication division( whichever of those 2 comes first) addition subtraction (same as multipling and dividing)

so first is whats in the parentasies which means:

1.)     12 divided by 4 =3

2.)      3-3=0

3.)     there is a 2 next to the parenthasies so that means the 2 is multiplied by what the answer to what was in the parenthasies so

        0 times 2=0

4.)     which means there is nothing left but the 3 which therfore equals 3
