To start off you add the 2 and the 5 which equals 7 at this point you ate probably thinking that it equals 3 but because you take it over the greater than it changes to a positive so from that you get 3y>7 so at this point you have to divide the 7 by 3 which gives you y=7/3

First, get rid of the 2. To get rid of -2 you must + 2. Do the same to the other side.

now it should be 3y > 7

Divide each side by 3

You should get y = 7/3
