3(c + 5) = 2(1) {cross-multiplied, since it was a proportion}
3c + 15 = 2 {used distributive property}
3c = -13 {subtracted 15 from both sides}
c = -13/3 {divided both sides by 3}

cross multiply

2(c+5)=3x1

2c+10=3

2c=3-10

2c=-7

c=-7/2
