Remember how we can multiply anything by 1 and it doesn't change?

Since 5,280 feet = 1 mile, if we multiply by (5,280 feet / 1 mile) we're multiplying by 1, so we can do this:

0.2 miles * (5,280 feet / 1 mile)

See how we have miles and /miles?  The miles cancel out, giving us:

0.2 * (5,280 feet / 1)

So all we have left is feet, like this:

0.2 * 5,280 * 1 feet

Do the multiplication part and we get this:

1,056 feet

Answer:  The runner is running at a rate of 1,056 feet per minute.
