So the answer is a number less than 50.  The  perfect square numbers are.. 4, 9, 16, 25, 36 and 49 which are all less than 50.  The question states it is a number that is a perfect square greater than a perfect square and a perfect square less than a perfect square.

The only number that would work is 40 which is a perfect square of 4 greater than 36 another perfect square and a perfect square of 9 less than 49.  No other numbers fit the perfect square.  And next year  41 is a prime number less than 50.
