x = 1st consecutive integer
x + 1 = 2nd consecutive integer

x + x + 1 = 45 {sum of the two integers is 45}
2x + 1 = 45 {combined like terms}
2x = 44 {subtracted 1 from both sides}
x = 22 {divided both side by 2}
x + 1 = 23 {substituted 22, in for x, into x + 1}

22 and 23 are the two consecutive integers
