(8x^6 + 6x^4 - 5x) + (8x^6 + 9x^4 + 2x)
= 8x^6 + 6x^4 - 5x + 8x^6 + 9x^4 + 2x {took out parentheses}
= 16x^6 + 15x^4 - 3x {combined like terms}
