3 - 6n - 4 < 17

-6n - 1 < 17 {combined like terms on left side}

-6n < 18 {added 1 to both sides}

n > -3 {divided both sides by -6 and changed inequality sign}

Whenever you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, you have to change the inequality sign.
