(5&7/8) + (14 & 1/6)

=(47/8) +(85/6).....kommon botton=24...3*8=24 & 4*6=24

= (141/24) +(340/24)

=481/24

=20.041666

or 20 & 1/24

you make both of the fraction's denominator the same ( LCM is 24)

you multiply both top and bottom the same # ( 19 25/24

you add the fraction FIRST, the Whole number is last to add

you numerator might be or not be bigger than your denominator

if is then you did something wrong the answer is ( whole #) 20 ( numerator) 1( denominator) 24

 ( whole #) 20 ( numerator) 1 ( denominator) 24 enlightened
