if I divide 1 by 3 and convert  it over to the decimal fraction form  of 0.333333... and then decide to multiply 0.333333... by 3 just as I would the fraction 1/3, I should get 1.0 but instead get 0.999999...instead of 1.0. Why?

Then there must be a flaw in the conversion process, and math is not as exact as I thought it was.

I will accept the answer you gave me as the best possible answer and live with it as you suggested.

Thanks
