-3*abs(x+1) -6=-24

-3*abs(x+1)=-18

abs(x+1)=(-18)/(-3)

abs(x+1)=+6

1 anser...x+1=6, so x=5

other anser...-(x+1)=6, or -x=7, so x=-7
