1/5x+4=1/3x+2
I need Help on this problem please.

1/5 x + 4 = 1/3 x + 2
15(1/5 x + 4) = (1/3 x + 2)15
3x + 60 = 5x + 30
3x + 60 - 5x = 5x + 30 - 5x
-2x + 60 = 30
-2x + 60 - 60 = 30 - 60
-2x = -30
-2x / -1 = -30 / -2
x = 15

Check it.

1/5 x + 4 = 1/3 x + 2
1/5 (15) + 4 = 1/3 (15) + 2
3 + 4 = 5 + 2
7 = 7

Unless the x is in the denominator of the fractions.
In that case, this is the solution:

1/(5x) + 4 = 1/(3x) + 2
15x(1/(5x) + 4) = (1/(3x) + 2)15x
3 + 60x = 5 + 30x
3 + 60x - 30x = 5 + 30x - 30x
3 + 30x = 5
3 + 30x - 3 = 5 - 3
30x = 2
30x / 30 = 2 / 30
x = 1/15

Check this one.

1/(5x) + 4 = 1/(3x) + 2
1/(5(1/15)) + 4 = 1/(3(1/15)) + 2
1/(1/3) + 4 = 1/(1/5) + 2
3 + 4 = 5 + 2
7 = 7

I didn't expect the equation to produce the same result
from two different interpretations. Whoever posted this
will have to decide which placement of the x is correct.
