x+y=20, so y=20-x

4x+2y=64

4x+2(20-x)=64

4x-2x+40=64

2x=64-40=24

x=12

y=20-12=8

11 dogs and 10 people

Rathod, that would equal 21 heads.
8 people, 12 dogs. 8 people equaling with 2 legs is 16 legs. 12 dogs with 4 legs is 48 legs. 12+48 equals 64 legs. 8people+12dogs equals 20 heads. So ur answer is 8 people, 12 dogs.

You almost got your check right, except you changed 16 human legs to 12 human legs when you added up the legs. By the way, 12 + 48 = 60, not 64.
