.The governor of state A earns $54,305 more than the governor of state B.

If the total of their salaries is $293,765, find the salaries of each.

Let x = the salary of the governor of state B

x + ( x + 54,305) = 293,765

2x = 239,460

x = $119730 salary for state B

$293,765 - 119730 = $174035   salary for state A
