The way that I read this problem is that we are going to find the speed of each belt and then combining the two belts to move 900 pound. Find time with two belts.
900/5 = 180 pounds per minute is the speed of the larger belt
900/7 = 128.57 is the speed of the smaller belt
900 / (180 + 128.57) = 2.92 OR 3 minutes using both belts
