Usually the simplest way to multiply fractions and mixed numbers is to turn the mixed number into an improper fraction. For example:

7/8 x 1 1/5 = 7/8 x 6/5 = 42/40

now reduce the resulting fraction:

42/40 = 1 2/40 = 1 1/20
