jeremy is looking at two diffrent lawncare companies to weed and mulch his floewer beds.Greenscape Lawncare offers to charge $100 for the mulch plus $12 per hr for the labor . D& J Landscape offers to charge $23 per hr for the job including the mulch. What is the minimum number of of hours the job could be for D&J Landscape to have the better deal ?

set the two rate structures equal:

100 + 12x = 23x

100 = 11x

x = 100/11 = 9.09 hr

Assuming that they bill full hours:

100 + 12(10) = $220

23(10) = $230

If the job takes more than 10 hours,  D&J is the better deal.
