what is the solution to 3x-2+4x+7=8x-12

Given Line RT, with RS, ST, and RT as labeled. Find RT.

RS=3x-2
ST=4x+7
RT=8x-12

3x - 2 + 4x + 7 = 8x - 12
7x + 5 = 8x - 12
7x - 8x = -12 - 5
-x = -17
x = 17

RT = 8x - 12 = (8 * 17) - 12 = 136 - 12 = 124
