1 A. For a normal distribution that has a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 8.  Determine the Z-score for each of the following X values:

X = 108 Z = 1

X = 112 Z = 1.5

X = 98 Z = -0.25

X = 70 Z = -3.75

x = 124 Z = 3

1 B. Use the information in 1 A to determine the area or probability of the following:

p(x > 108)

p(x < 98)

p(92 < x < 108)

p(84 < x < 116)

p(x < 84)

NORM.DIST(108,100, 8,1) =0.84134475

 so p(x>108) = 1-.8413 =  .1586  - you find the normal distribution using the excel norm.dist then since you need > you take 1 - Norm.dist(x, mean, dev, z)
