y^(1/4) = 2

To try and find the value of 'y' you can multiply both sides of the equation to the power of 4:

(y^(1/4))^4 = (2)^4

y^(4/4) = (2)^4

y^1 = (2)^4

y = 2×2×2×2

y = 4×4

y = 16

Hope this helps smiley.
