the answer depends on whether you think/know that this is a BASIC math question or should be treated as an algebraic expression.

go to http://chemistry.about.com/library/weekly/blcalculator.htm and plug in the equation..the answer is 1
or
go to http://www.calculateforfree.com/ and plug in the same problem..the answer is 1
http://www.theonlinecalculator.com/ the answer is 1
http://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/math/basic.php answer is 1

All of the above sites--especially the first one mention that they help kids with their homework...hMMMM.

but If I work the problem in Excel , or Kcalc in Linux I get 7..maybe a bad MS Bug and with linux..well..i got what I paid for <sarcasm>.

Those calculators, and no doubt some good old TI-** are not doing the "new math'..that is to say unless there are backets around any portion of the formula you resolve it left to right as a BASIC math problem..there's 4 calculators online that are not 'lying"

The answer is 7

Explanation:

PEDMAS=

Parenthesis

Exponents

Division/Multiplication

Addition/Subtraction

Division and/or Multiplication as well as Addition and/or Subtraction are worked left to right depending on which comes first. PEDMAS is confusing in this way as it doesn't clearly show that.

6-1x0+2/2

FIRST STEP: Multiply 1x0=0

SECOND STEP: Divide 2/2=1

THIRD STEP: Plug those numbers into their correlating spots this gives us 6-0+1

FOURTH STEP: Subtract 6-0 and this gives us 6+1

FIFTH STEP: Add 6+1

ANSWER: 7

As far as those online calculators, you have to input the equation as a whole (6-1x0+2/2) not individualy because the calculator is going to think you are subtracting 1 from 6 then multiplying that answer by 0 then adding 2 then dividing that answer by 2 and that is not correct. Using a basic calculator won't work as this is an algebraic expression. Any online calculator that allowes you to input the whole equation will give you 7.
