This equation is in slope intercept form.  Slope intercept form is

y=mx+b

Your equation has number in the place of m and b

y=3x+2

In slope intercept form the m is the slope of a the line and the b is the y intercept lf the line.

So for your equation since your m value is 3 that means that the slope of this line is 3.  You can always make 3 a fraction by putting it over 1 and say that the slope is 3/1. Both are the same.

Since your b value is 2 that means that the y intercept of this equation is 2.

The y intercept is the point on the graph where the line crosses the x axis.  Here is a graph of the line so you can see what it looks like:

You can see that the line crosses the y axis right at 2.
