5/3(y + 3) = 1/(2 - y)

5y/3 + 5 = 1/(2 - y)

(2 - y)(5y/3 + 5) = 1

10y/3 + 10 - 5y^2/3 - 5y = 1

10y/3 + 30/3 - 5y^2/3 - 15y/3 = 3/3

10y + 30 - 5y^2 - 15y = 3

-5y^2 - 5y + 27 = 0

using quadratic formula:

y = (5 +/- SQR(25 - 4(-5)(27)))/2(-5)

y = (5 +/- SQR(565))/-10

y ~ (5 +/- 23.8)/-10

y~ -2.9, 1.9
